Emiliano Martínez has been offered to Chelsea by his representatives, with the London club considering whether to make a late move for the Aston Villa goalkeeper. The 33-year-old’s future has become uncertain after a proposed transfer to Juventus failed to progress.

Villa have since signed Zion Suzuki from Parma, reportedly with the intention of making the Japanese goalkeeper their new first choice. Marco Bizot started Villa’s opening Premier League match against Brighton, adding further uncertainty over Martínez’s position at the club.

Chelsea are reviewing their goalkeeping options after Robert Sánchez endured a difficult performance in the team’s 3–2 victory over Fulham. Sánchez was criticized for his role in both Fulham goals, including a near-post effort he was expected to stop and a parried save that led to the hosts’ second goal.

Despite the concerns, Chelsea have not yet decided whether to pursue Martínez or continue with Sánchez. The Argentine would bring considerable experience, but any transfer would depend on Chelsea’s valuation of the goalkeeper and Villa’s willingness to approve a sale before the transfer deadline.

For now, Martínez remains an Aston Villa player, while Chelsea weigh up whether his experience and reliability would strengthen their squad.
