Juventus have agreed a deal to sign German striker Nick Woltemade from Newcastle United on an initial loan. The Italian club will pay a reported £3.5 million loan fee, with no purchase option or obligation included in the agreement.
Woltemade is expected to travel to Turin for his medical before completing the move. His arrival will add another attacking option to Riccardo Spalletti’s squad as Juventus reshape their forward line. The deal comes at the same time as Jonathan David prepares to leave Juventus for Atlético Madrid, with the Canadian striker scheduled to complete his move on Tuesday.
Woltemade attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Stuttgart before Juventus reached an agreement with Newcastle. The 23-year-old forward now has the opportunity to continue his development in Serie A, although Juventus will not have a guaranteed route to sign him permanently when the loan ends.
Randal Kolo Muani’s situation is also part of Juventus’ wider attacking plans. The French forward has been linked with a permanent agreement at the club, while Woltemade’s arrival provides additional depth and competition in the forward positions. Juventus are therefore strengthening their attack even as David’s departure creates space within the squad.
The move forms part of a busy transfer period for the Turin club. Juventus have also agreed to sign Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham on an initial loan deal that includes a purchase option reportedly worth €30 million. The Senegal international is expected to add energy and versatility to the midfield.
Juventus have further invested in young talent by signing midfielder Ibrahim Alajbegovic from Bayer Leverkusen in a package worth approximately €35 million. The club have also completed a loan agreement for Douglas Luiz from Nottingham Forest, with an option to buy reported at around €30 million.
Several players are moving in the opposite direction. Kiliann Sildillia is expected to join Roma, while Koulierakis is also heading to the Italian capital. Venezia have agreed a deal for Halhal, and Juventus continue to manage a substantial squad overhaul.
Earlier recruitment included the signing of 16-year-old Esad Deniz from Ajax, reinforcing the club’s focus on developing young players alongside first-team additions. Woltemade’s temporary arrival represents a different type of investment: immediate attacking depth without a long-term financial commitment.
For Newcastle, the loan provides Woltemade with a chance to gain regular experience abroad while preserving the player’s future value. For Juventus, it offers a short-term solution after David’s departure and gives Spalletti another physical presence in attack. The transfer will be formally completed once Woltemade passes his medical and signs the necessary documentation.
