West Ham United returned to the top of the Championship with a 6-0 victory over Wrexham at the London Stadium, recording a fourth consecutive league win and producing their most emphatic performance of the season.

Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring in the 28th minute, turning in Morato’s low cross after West Ham had threatened early. Joel Piroe doubled the lead nine minutes before half-time, finishing a move created by Valentín Castellanos.

West Ham continued to dominate after the interval. Konstantinos Mavropanos headed in Bowen’s corner, Castellanos added the fourth on the counterattack, and substitutes Mohamadou Kanté and Manor Solomon completed the scoring.

The result lifted West Ham to 14 points from seven matches, one ahead of West Bromwich Albion. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have now scored 16 goals during their four-match winning run after starting the campaign without a league victory.

Bowen scored once and created five chances, taking his Championship tally to four goals and seven goal involvements. His 23 chances created are the most in the division, highlighting his influence as West Ham pursue an immediate return to the Premier League.

Wrexham, meanwhile, have won only once in their opening seven league matches and remain 16th with seven points. The defeat exposed the gap between the two sides and left Phil Parkinson’s team facing an early battle to rebuild momentum.
