Savinho’s push for a move coincides with tactical developments inside the Manchester City camp. During the Club World Cup, City’s head coach debuted a 4-3-2-1 tactical shape. While that narrow system benefits central playmakers like Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden, and Marmoush, wingers such as Savinho and Jeremy Doku prefer a shape that requires them to operate out wide on the touchline. City’s deep roster—comprising Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic, Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, and Ilkay Gundogan—provides ample coverage, but sanctioning moves for both Savinho and Marmoush would significantly alter their attacking dynamic.
