Real Madrid Close to Completing Yan Diomande Deal

Real Madrid Close in on Yan Diomande Deal

Real Madrid are on the verge of signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, with the Spanish giants having agreed personal terms with the player. According to sources, the transfer is now so far advanced that an official announcement is believed to be only a matter of hours away. The deal is expected to be worth around $130 million to $135 million, with the key issue already settled: an agreement between Real Madrid and the German club.

As we’ve seen in recent transfer windows, clubs are willing to go the extra mile to secure their top targets. Real Madrid’s pursuit of Diomande is a clear indication of their intent to strengthen their squad, and it will be interesting to see how this deal unfolds. With Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool having withdrawn their interest, it’s now a matter of when, not if, Diomande will join Real Madrid. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international is one of football’s top young prospects, having excelled in the Bundesliga last season and starring for Ivory Coast at the World Cup.

The move would be the latest step in a meteoric rise for Diomande, who was playing at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida just two years ago. He joined Spanish club Leganés in January 2025, initially featuring for their reserves, but impressed sufficiently to sign for Leipzig six months later. The forward was then one of the Bundesliga’s outstanding players last season, as Leipzig finished third. Real Madrid’s key negotiators have been scouting Diomande for about five years, and they have finally reached an agreement to bring him to the club. The deal is expected to be completed in the coming hours, with Diomande set to undergo medical evaluations and complete a contract running through June 2031.
