Port City Stun Gold Stars at Dun's Park to Climb into Ghana Premier League Top Three

Ghana Premier League debutants Port City delivered an impressive away performance, sweeping aside Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 at Dun’s Park in Week 4 of the 2026/27 campaign. Two first-half strikes proved decisive for the visitors, who handled the pressure of a difficult away venue with remarkable composure. The victory continues a brilliant start for Christopher Ennin’s side, propelling Port City into third place in the league standings while leaving Gold Stars reflecting on a disappointing home defeat.

The contest burst into life early, with Port City taking control inside the opening ten minutes. Gideon Waja unlocked the host defence with a precise, defence-splitting pass to set Emmanuel Intori free. Showing great composure, Intori delicately chipped the ball over Gold Stars goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi to open the scoring in the eighth minute. Port City kept up the intensity and doubled their lead just twelve minutes later. Owusu Ansah whipped in a dangerous cross from the flank, allowing Robert Gyamfi to slot home with a cool finish on 20 minutes.

Port City nearly put the match out of reach before the interval. Intori controlled a long pass out of defence and surged into the penalty box, but he couldn’t direct his shot on target, firing his effort over the crossbar with only Kobi to beat. After the break, Gold Stars showed signs of fighting back as they pushed forward in search of a route into the match. However, Ennin’s side remained resolute in defence, turning away every threat to preserve their clean sheet and secure all three points on the road.

For Gold Stars head coach Petros Koukouras, the result marks a frustrating step backward. The Miners struggled to recreate the battle and determination that saw them beat Swedru All Blacks last weekend, falling flat in front of their home supporters. Elsewhere in Week 4 action, Aduana FC picked up a 2-0 victory away at Asante Kotoko, Swedru All Blacks drew 1-1 with FC Samartex, and FC AshantiGold earned a 2-1 win against Debibi United.
