Nicolas Jackson Undergoes Aston Villa Medical Ahead of £65m Transfer From Chelsea

Nicolas Jackson is undergoing a medical with Aston Villa as the club moves closer to completing his transfer from Chelsea. Villa have agreed a package worth up to £65 million for the Senegal international, including an initial fee of £47.5 million and performance-related additions.

The move would reunite Jackson with Villa manager Unai Emery, who previously coached him at Villarreal. Emery is understood to have been keen to add the striker to his attacking options because of his familiarity with the forward’s qualities.

Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 for approximately £32 million and signed an eight-year contract. He scored 30 goals in 81 appearances for the London club before spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich.

His spell in Germany was structured around a loan fee and a potential permanent transfer, but Bayern ultimately did not retain him. Jackson is now set to return to the Premier League and continue his career at Villa Park, provided he completes the remaining formalities.

The transfer would represent another significant deal between Aston Villa and Chelsea this summer. Villa previously sold Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for a reported club-record £117 million, while Alejandro Garnacho joined Villa on loan with a conditional obligation to buy.

Jackson’s arrival would strengthen Villa’s forward line, particularly with Ollie Watkins nearing a move to Al Hilal. Once his medical and paperwork are complete, the 25-year-old striker is expected to join Emery’s squad and compete for a starting role.
