Jean-Philippe Mateta has challenged the validity of the final 10 months of his Crystal Palace contract.The striker argues Palace’s 12-month extension should be void, although his deal remains binding until June 2027.

Mateta has taken the case to FIFA after an independent tribunal process under Premier League rules.
