Fiorentina midfielder Cher Ndour is emerging as one of the most closely watched young players in Italy, with Liverpool and Aston Villa among the Premier League clubs monitoring his progress. Juventus and Inter are also tracking the 22-year-old, although there is no indication that any of the interested sides has submitted a formal offer.
Ndour has become increasingly important in Florence after joining Fiorentina from Paris Saint-Germain in February 2025. The Italy international has now made 61 appearances for La Viola, registering eight goals and three assists, and his performances have established him as a regular at Serie A level after a difficult spell trying to break through in Paris.
Liverpool are understood to be looking at Ndour as a long-term midfield option. His athleticism, ability to carry the ball through central areas and capacity to cover ground appeal to a side that values intensity and transition play. Reports suggest the club are seeking a versatile midfielder capable of increasing competition for Alexis Mac Allister and adding energy to their rotation.
Aston Villa are also monitoring Ndour, with Unai Emery believed to see him as a flexible, dynamic addition rather than a like-for-like replacement for one specific midfielder. His physical profile could suit Villa’s demand for players who can contribute in both defensive and attacking phases, particularly in high-tempo matches.
Italian competition
Juventus and Inter have also identified Ndour as a player of interest. Juventus are reportedly scouting him as part of their longer-term rebuilding plans, while Inter are following his development as they seek to protect and strengthen their Italian core under head coach Cristian Chivu.
Neither Italian club has made a concrete proposal. Reports characterise their interest as exploratory and observational, rather than an active attempt to negotiate a transfer.
Why clubs like him
Ndour’s appeal rests on a relatively uncommon combination of size, mobility and technical competence. A right-footed box-to-box midfielder, he is noted for ball recovery, long-striding carries through midfield, strength in duels and an ability to shoot from distance. That profile gives him potential value in several roles: as a central midfielder in a three, a more advanced runner from midfield, or a physically imposing option in a double pivot.
His early senior experience also adds to his appeal. Ndour has earned two Italy caps and has featured in every one of Fiorentina’s first three Serie A matches this season, while also scoring in the club’s Coppa Italia first-round win over Benevento.
Fiorentina’s stance
Fiorentina are not thought to be under immediate pressure to sell. Ndour’s contract runs until June 2029, placing the club in a strong negotiating position, and Fiorentina reportedly rejected approaches during the summer because they wanted him to continue his development with regular first-team football.
Reports place Fiorentina’s valuation between approximately €30 million and €35 million. That price has cooled the prospect of a rapid move, but it is not likely to deter Liverpool, Aston Villa, Juventus or Inter if Ndour continues progressing through the season.
For now, this is a scouting story rather than an imminent transfer. But Ndour’s age, Italy pedigree, contract situation and growing influence at Fiorentina mean he is well placed to become a significant midfield target in a future window.
