Bruno Fernandes: Galatasaray to press Manchester United for January departure if contract talks stall

Bruno Fernandes’ future at Manchester United remains unresolved, but reports that he has ended contract negotiations or rejected a new deal are not supported. United are still in discussions with their captain over a longer-term agreement, although no extension has yet been finalised.

Fernandes’ current Manchester United contract runs until June 2027, with the club holding an option to extend it by a further 12 months. United are understood to want to retain the 32-year-old, with negotiations reportedly focused on the length of any new deal rather than a confirmed decision to separate.

Galatasaray had been linked with Fernandes, but the latest reports suggest the Turkish club have cooled or shelved plans for a January move. There is no confirmed Galatasaray proposal, no established arrangement involving Leroy Sané, and no indication that a January transfer is imminent.

Fernandes remains a central Manchester United player and club captain, but uncertainty over his longer-term contract has fuelled external speculation. A future departure cannot be ruled out if talks fail, yet the available reporting does not support presenting a January move to Galatasaray as likely or agreed.
