Aston Villa have completed the loan signing of Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, the club has announced. The 22-year-old Argentine has joined the team on loan for the season, with a conditional obligation to buy, which is considered to be easily achievable. Garnacho’s move to the West Midlands outfit was finalized after Chelsea signed Morgan Rogers from Villa for a record £117m fee.
As Aston Villa look to strengthen their squad, they’ve turned to Chelsea to bring in some much-needed firepower. Garnacho’s signing is a significant coup for the club, and Unai Emery will be hoping he can make an immediate impact. With Garnacho on board, Aston Villa fans will be eager to see how he fits into Emery’s plans, and how he’ll work with the rest of the squad. Garnacho joined Chelsea last summer from Manchester United for £40m and scored eight goals and provided four assists in 43 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season.
Aston Villa finished fourth in the Premier League last season with 65 points, behind Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United. The club will be looking to build on this performance and challenge for a higher position in the table. Garnacho’s arrival will provide Emery with more options on the left flank, where he will compete with other players for a starting spot. The Argentina international winger has expressed his desire to regain his confidence and form at Aston Villa, and he believes that Emery will give him the confidence to succeed. With the new signing, Aston Villa will be looking to make a strong start to the season and push for a top-four finish.
