Amed SFK produced a determined comeback to defeat Trabzonspor 2–1 in Diyarbakır, overturning an early Mohamed Salah goal to claim all three points. The result moved Besnik Hasi’s side to six points after three Turkish Super Lig matches, while Fatih Tekke’s Trabzonspor remained on four points.
Trabzonspor took the lead in the 11th minute when Salah finished after receiving an assist from Ernest Muçi. The forward moved into a one-on-one position with the goalkeeper before calmly converting to give the visitors an early advantage. Amed responded strongly, however, with Yira Sor and Gift Orban scoring the goals that turned the match in the home side’s favour.
The statistics reflected Trabzonspor’s control of possession but also Amed’s defensive resilience. The visitors held 60 per cent of the ball and completed 528 passes with 86 per cent accuracy, compared with Amed’s 352 passes at 78 per cent. Trabzonspor also won five corners to Amed’s two, but the visitors struggled to convert their territorial dominance into clear chances.
Amed defended with intensity, recording 27 clearances and 12 tackles. Trabzonspor made eight tackles and 17 clearances as the contest became increasingly physical. Amed registered seven shots on target and 10 off target, while Trabzonspor managed five efforts on target and three off target. Both teams had two shots blocked, and the match produced four offsides for Amed and three for Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor pushed for an equaliser after the interval but found Amed’s defensive structure difficult to break down. Alban Lafont made an important save in the 70th minute to deny a powerful effort, while Trabzonspor’s goalkeeper also made five saves. The match was officiated by Atilla Karaoğlan, with Amed committing 18 fouls and Trabzonspor 10.
The defeat adds to a difficult period for Trabzonspor, who recently suffered a 1–0 defeat to Fenerbahçe before losing 4–0 on aggregate in their UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign. For Salah, the early goal offered a positive personal moment, but it wasn’t enough to prevent another setback for his new club.
Amed’s victory strengthens their position near the top of the Turkish Super Lig table alongside Beşiktaş, who also have six points. Galatasaray and Gençlerbirliği lead the early standings with seven points, while Fenerbahçe are among the teams on six. Hasi’s side will take confidence from their ability to absorb pressure and attack decisively, while Tekke must now find a way to turn Trabzonspor’s possession into more consistent results.
