UEFA has confirmed that Munich’s Allianz Arena—officially referred to by UEFA as the Munich Football Arena—will host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, with Barcelona’s Camp Nou selected for the 2029 final. Lyon will stage the 2028 Women’s Champions League final, followed by Cardiff in 2029.
The decisions were made by UEFA’s Executive Committee at its meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, on September 15. Munich was the only bidder for the 2028 men’s final, which is scheduled for May 27, 2028.
The Allianz Arena will host the men’s Champions League final for the third time. It previously staged Chelsea’s penalty-shootout victory over Bayern Munich in 2012 and Paris Saint-Germain’s 5–0 win over Inter Milan in 2025. More broadly, Munich will host the final of Europe’s premier club competition for the sixth time.
Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou beat Wembley Stadium in the selection process to secure the 2029 final. It will be the first Champions League final at Camp Nou since Manchester United’s dramatic 2–1 comeback against Bayern Munich in 1999, and the third time the stadium has hosted the event overall, following the 1989 and 1999 finals.
The selection adds further significance to Camp Nou’s redevelopment and places the stadium at the heart of Spanish football’s preparations for the 2030 World Cup, which Spain will co-host with Portugal and Morocco.
UEFA also allocated several other major finals. The 2028 Europa League final will take place at the National Arena in Bucharest, Romania, while Belgrade’s National Stadium of Serbia will host in 2029. Turin’s Juventus Stadium will stage the 2028 Conference League final, followed by Budapest’s Puskás Aréna in 2029.
For the women’s game, Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon-Décines will host the 2028 Women’s Champions League final. Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, also known as the National Stadium of Wales, will host the 2029 final; the venue previously staged the 2017 men’s Champions League final between Real Madrid and Juventus.
The 2027 Champions League final had already been awarded to Atlético Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano. UEFA’s latest announcement therefore completes the host sequence for the next three men’s finals: Madrid in 2027, Munich in 2028 and Barcelona in 2029.
