Semper Fi Entrusts Chris Baffour with Promotion Quest in Division One

Semper Fi have appointed Chris Baffour as head coach on a two-year contract ahead of the new Ghana Division One League season, formalising a role he had already carried out during pre-season. The club will look to build on its previous campaign and compete for promotion to the Ghana Premier League under the former Ghana Under-20 assistant coach.

Baffour arrives with experience across club and national-team football. He served as an assistant coach with Ghana’s Under-20 side, the Black Satellites, from December 2024 to December 2025, a period that gave him exposure to elite youth football and the demands of an international-team environment.

Before joining Semper Fi, Baffour spent more than a year in charge of Division One side Rospak SC after taking the position in April 2024. His work at the club drew wider attention after he guided Rospak to second place in the 2024–25 Division One League, where the team collected 59 points, scored 50 goals and won more than 18 matches.

His coaching background also includes roles in youth and performance analysis. Reporting has linked him to work with Medeama’s youth setup, as well as analyst roles within Ghana’s national-team structure. That mix of development-focused and senior-football experience could be valuable to a Semper Fi side seeking both immediate progress and a sustainable pathway for younger players.

Semper Fi compete in Ghana’s second-tier Division One League, where promotion provides a route to the Ghana Premier League. The club’s decision to give Baffour a two-year deal suggests it is pursuing more than a short-term appointment: it is placing a coach with a record of competitive Division One performance at the center of its plan.

The appointment removes uncertainty before the campaign and gives Baffour time to implement his methods. For Semper Fi, the benchmark will be clear—translate the momentum from last season into a sustained challenge for promotion.
