Manchester United suffered a 3–0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, extending their winless run to eight matches in all competitions and deepening the pressure on Michael Carrick. The result left United 16th in the Premier League with seven points from eight games, just one point above the relegation zone, following their worst start to a Premier League season.
Bournemouth’s third goal arrived in the 71st minute when Lewis Cook’s long ball drew Senne Lammens out of his penalty area. Evanilson reached it first, took the ball past the goalkeeper and curled a superb finish into the empty net from a tight angle. The visitors’ pressing and disciplined defensive work, with James Hill and António Silva at centre-back, restricted United’s attacking threat and sealed a deserved victory.
