Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Dani Olmo has no intention of departing Barcelona before the January transfer deadline, and sources close to the Spain international confirm he is happy with his situation at the Catalan club. Bayern Munich have been mentioned in transfer chatter, but the German side is not actively pursuing a deal, and a winter move has been ruled out.
Olmo is sidelined with a left adductor injury sustained during Barcelona’s mid‑week Champions League loss to Paris Saint‑Germain, which means he will miss the first El Clásico of the season. The injury comes as he competes with fellow midfielder Fermín López for a starting role; Olmo has logged limited minutes this campaign, starting only a handful of La Liga matches. He remains under contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2030 and has already contributed 21 goals and 21 assists in 100 competitive appearances since re‑joining the club in 2024.
With Olmo’s future settled for the short term, Barcelona can concentrate on reinforcing other areas of the squad ahead of the busy winter schedule. The club’s immediate priority is to manage the midfield depth while the Spaniard completes his rehabilitation, hoping he returns to full fitness in time to influence the title race later in the season.
