The Premier League’s early-morning matchday tradition has arrived in Denver, transforming Union Station into a gathering place for football supporters. Thousands attended the opening day of Premier League Mornings Live on Saturday, watching matches on large screens and celebrating alongside fellow fans. The free, ticketed festival continues on Sunday as the 13th edition of the event, organised by the Premier League in collaboration with NBC Sports and USA Sports.
Denver’s response reflects an established local following rather than a football culture starting from scratch. The city is home to numerous official Premier League supporters’ clubs, several affiliated with pubs where fans regularly gather for early kick-offs. The festival brings those communities together in one setting, turning viewing habits usually spread across the city into a shared matchday experience.
The choice of Union Station places the event at a prominent downtown landmark. Hosted with the Denver Sports Commission and the Downtown Denver Partnership, the two-day festival combines live broadcasts with interactive activities, appearances by former players, club mascots and opportunities to see the Premier League Trophy. NBC Sports’ studio team is also broadcasting from the venue, connecting the celebrations in Denver with television audiences across the United States.
The event builds on the league’s recent engagement with Denver. In August, the city hosted an Arsenal-focused Premier League Coast to Coast event at McGregor Square. This weekend’s gathering broadens that connection, giving supporters of different clubs a place to celebrate their teams and the competition together.
The emphasis is on community as much as coverage. Denver’s turnout shows how early-morning football has become a regular social occasion for local supporters, with Union Station providing a larger stage for a culture already sustained by pubs and fan groups. For the Premier League, the festival offers a direct connection with those supporters; for fans, it brings the energy of a matchday closer to home.
