Chukwueze and Adams Cement Themselves Among Serie A’s Most Valuable Africans

The Nigerian Super Eagles have reinforced their presence in Serie A with two standout performers now ranked among the continent’s most valuable players in the league. Samuel Chukwueze and Akor Adams have climbed into the top 10 of Transfermarkt’s African market-value rankings, a testament to their rapid integration and influence since arriving in Italy.

Chukwueze, the AC Milan winger, sits sixth on the list with a €20 million valuation, trailing only Senegal’s Assane Diao and Pape Matar Sarr. His consistency in La Liga and now Serie A—where he’s carved out a role as a dynamic left-footed winger—has earned him recognition as one of the league’s most sought-after African talents. Adams, meanwhile, occupies joint-ninth place at €15 million, level with Ivory Coast’s Odilon Kossounou and Cameroon’s Frank Anguissa. The 26-year-old striker’s arrival at Venezia in July, following a prolific spell at Sevilla, has already cemented his status as a key figure in the newly promoted club’s attack.

What sets this duo apart is their immediate impact. Adams, who scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for Sevilla, has adapted swiftly to Serie A’s physicality, while Chukwueze’s versatility—operating as both a winger and a false nine—has made him a constant threat in Milan’s midfield rotations. Their inclusion in the top 10 reflects not just individual brilliance but also the growing confidence of Serie A clubs in African talent, particularly from Nigeria’s deep talent pool.

Beyond their market value, their presence underscores a broader trend: Serie A’s increasing reliance on African players to fill critical roles. With six Nigerian internationals now featured among the league’s 50 most valuable Africans, Nigeria’s influence in the division continues to grow. For Adams and Chukwueze, this ranking isn’t just a statistic—it’s validation of their potential to shape Serie A’s future.
